I also have quite a few intolerances, which I think might even stem from Candida and leaky gut. And also avoid other intolerance's completely. I am going to try give the diet a go, although it sounds hard to stick with, its pretty basic really avoid sugar and stick with Veg, meat, rice. I am reading a book on allergies and the Candida diet and it recommends Nystatin and the strict diet, I am going to go see my GP next week and have a chat. Also take those probiotics on an empty stomach, not immediately before or after meals. However, I would advise anyone taking an antifungal (or antibacterial or antiparasitic) drug to take high dose (20-100 billion live cells per capsule) probiotics during and after treatment. So that drug completely eliminated my candida. Those tests were all negative for candida. I've taken 3 more stool tests during the past 2 years after that Nystatin treatment. My only symptoms were commonly reported Nystatin side effects. I never experienced any 'herxheimer effect' or 'candida die off symptoms'. Then I had a couple more days of nausea, which I suspect were drug 'withdrawal'. Thereafter, I experienced no side effects during the 3 months I took Nystatin UNTIL I finished the prescription and went off the drug. Initially I experienced some nystatin side effects (about 3 days of slight nausea) which I could easily manage with ginger tea.

I would like to hear your experiences with Nystatin for Candida, I am considering taking it but have some doubts and would like to hear others experiences.Īfter I was diagnosed by DNA Microbial stool test with candida, I opted to take Nystatin, because (1) I didn't want to try a restricted diet treatment, because I already have 7 food allergy and celiac disease restrictions (2) I could get Nystatin inexpensively through my HMO pharmacy and (3) I read several posts here (years ago) about success with Nystatin eliminating candida without a restrictive diet.
